Vegan businesses should work with Vegan designers.
We’re a part of the same club.
Owners of vegan brands are driven by compassion and a moral code to provide goods or services that could change the world for the better. As an individual, you probably partake in daily rituals, such as peering over the sneeze guard at Chipotle to ensure a dollop of sour cream doesn’t end up in your burrito.
Those same values and experiences help tether your brand to potential customers. It’s also what sets you apart from competitors and helps to define your brand aesthetic. No one understands this more than a like minded designer that shares the same values and passion as you do.
Like minds means less wasted time.
No need to catch us up on the basics. As a cruelty free interior design company, we surround ourselves within the culture and adhere to vegan principles. It’s in our DNA, and we’ve happily immersed ourselves in the lifestyle for over 2 decades. We understand the the language and caveats of veganism, and the mission is clear. We are well versed and no time is lost building a connection, or establishing a shared vision.
Any designer can select faux leathers or a wool free carpet once asked to do so, but the mind meld is the real value. You can rest assured knowing our design concept won’t consist of images of fruits and vegetables or cows out at pasture.
No one wants your space to be as dope as we do, after all, we’re vegan consumers too!
We want to work with you.
Typical, non vegan designers and design companies work with a myriad of clients. More likely than not, they are not selecting clients based on ethics and values, but rather the fee and fanfare the project may bring. As much as it may be a partnership through the duration of a project, typical client/designer relationships generally rest on the agreement of aesthetics and budget. Of course these two issues are salient with any design project, but a strong desire to design and build a space that benefits both parties life long agendas is what equates in an emotion evoking design.
It’s also fair to consider that a non vegan designer will need to take time to conduct research so that they can understand a vegan client’s goods and/or services. It’s very possible they may not be able to translate your vision if they get caught up in stereotypical vegan architypes and iconography. They may also be unable to sympathize with what matters most to you. Best case scenario, the designer decides to go vegan mid way through the project after all the research (hell yeah!) However, the opposite could happen, that their empathy and compassion remains untapped, leaving you with a designer that doesn’t get you or your product.
We know that your values don’t exist in a vacuum. Just like you, our compassion extends beyond our profession, it informs every aspect of our lives and we’re up to speed on what your project can mean to encouraging a cruelty free lifestyle.
Your scene is our scene
Vegan brands and businesses are blowing up, which we love!
But it does mean that there’s more competition for vegan businesses. Inspired and informed design can certainly help your brand stand out amongst the rest.
Luckily for our clients, we’re on the pulse of what’s new and what’s in the works in the vegan space. We are personally driven to stay up to date and in the know. A vegan design company will understand the forces you’re up against in order to stand out.
We’re equally as familiar with the OG restaurants, brands, and institutions that got us through the early aughts long before anything was Beyond or Impossible. We’re talking deep rooted knowledge and international travels for all things vegan ( and design).
As designers it is our job to bring visions to life and generate an emotional response, as vegans it’s our mission to be advocates against unnecessary suffering. As a design partner, you get a packaged deal. There is plenty of unnecessary suffering we can avoid as your advocate through the fruition of a project.
Faint of Heart is a new company, but we are certainly not new to veganism or design. We’re not for everyone, but if you’re reading this, we may be perfect for you.
XOXO, Heather
